Chef Maria Elia has a rare and endearing outlook: taking her profession very seriously whilst not taking herself seriously at all. It’s an approach that makes her writing informative, authoritative, warm-hearted and irreverent. Commissioned to design a volume of cliché-busting Greek recipes, we took inspiration from Maria’s approach – creating a look that reflects the craft behind dishes like fig-leaf pasta but which also celebrates the playfulness that dreamt them up.
